OUR VERDICT

Is it right for you?

This set makes sense if you need a small data hub in two different places, such as a desk and a travel bag. It is for connecting USB-A accessories through a USB-C host port. It does not provide laptop charging, HDMI, or Ethernet, so choose a different hub if those are essential.

Before you buy

USB-C input, USB-A expansion

The selected style uses a USB-C cable to connect to your computer, then provides four USB-A data ports. That is different from a hub with four USB-C accessory ports. Check the connectors on the devices you want to attach before deciding which type of hub you need.

Data expansion has power limits

The listing states that charging is not supported. Use this hub for data accessories, and check the power needs of drives and other peripherals rather than treating it as a charger. The selected option is a two-pack with 2 ft cables; shorter cables and USB-A host styles are separate variations.
